I took his class in 97, stripped a cylinder stud on my old POS beemer, and he helped me do a full engine rebuild. Yes, he likes women. lots of men do. Most of them aren't so vocal about it, is all. Don't feel threatened, though, he's got a girlfriend he's very happy with, and is just as happy chatting with lesbians as straight women, unlike so many other straight men. I knew him even when he was single and never once felt threatened. We've been great friends, he's worked with me on all the bikes I had, and was never inappropriate. Even when I wore my black leather pants to his house to work on my bike, he simply told me it'd be a good idea if I never wore those pants around him again, in a way that made it very funny.
As for thinking you can find a "licensed" m/c mechanic, good luck. Mechanics can get certified by various manufacturers, and he has been certified by BMW, Ducati (ducati even wanted him to teach their certification course, but for too little $$), and
