transportation question

Hi,
I wonder if anyone knows a good place to park in this city. I'd like to drive to and from home/work between Manhattan and Yonkers (in Westchester County) and after spending 1-2 hours this morning looking for parking place, I wonder if there are any better options. I was thinking I could drive to a nearby subway stop (on either the west 1-9 subway or east 4-5-6) and then take subway in but I'd rather not spend more money on metrocard- ANY IDEAS??? (I thank you so much for your help and am racking my brains trying to think of something....)
